Welcome to Firehawks Youth Lacrosse Club

The Firehawks is a youth lacrosse club dedicated to bringing the sport of lacrosse to kids on the Peninsula. We are committed to learning, playing and loving lacrosse. We primarily draw players from San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, Menlo Park and Belmont.

Come out and watch us in action, and see the FIRE and passion in our players and their love for the game, its tradition and culture of respect and giving back to the community.

Congrats to our mighty U9 teams who had a combined record of 15-3-1 at the Santa Cruz U9 tournament. Out of the three losses, two were to other Firehawks teams! U9 Grey takes home the championship beating a Ross Valley All Star team in the final.

Fun Run!!!

Firehawks, we had an amazing turnout at the 5K Fun Run on Friday night! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated money and ran for charity! We had over 250 attendees and over 100 runners. It looks like we are going to set a record in amount of donations collected as well. Once we add it all up we will report back.

There is no other club in the country that does what we do. I'm so proud to be a Firehawk!

At the start of the race, I attempted to read a letter from Todd French, but got choked up reading it. Thank goodness U11 player Kyle Adelmann was there to bail me out!

Here is the letter from Todd:

To the Firehawks Community:

I apologize or not being able to be present in person for this incredible event. The Northern lacrosse community as a whole is a special group; however, the Firehawks community in particular holds a special spot in my heart as over the years my family has been fortunate to develop so many close personal relationships with countless Firehawk families, many of whom we consider among our best and closest friends. Lacrosse is a wonderful and unique sport in this fraternal regard in that the intense spirit of competition seamless evolves into a more enduring sense of community.

I and my family wanted to ensure we say thank you for your time, commitment, and most importantly support. The funds raised this evening will help us in our fight against the beast of cancer by off-setting the cost of treatment and contributing to college funds for my two sons Austin and Cole.

I have learned many wonderful lessons while fighting this disease, perhaps the most important is simply "If not me, then who? and if not now then when?" Meaning make sure we take time to help others and do not put it off because life is short. Tonight by being here at this fund-raising event you have answered these questions and once again shown that the Firehawks community is special and unique.

Lastly life is precious, and it is our relationships that define our lives. Right now stop, take a moment find a loved one, give them a hug and tell them you love them. Nothing is more important.

Thank you all for your support, it means more than words can adequately express. Together we will beat the beast.
