WELCOME TO THE FIREHAWKS

Dash_large

The Firehawks is a youth lacrosse club dedicated to bringing the sport of lacrosse to kids on the Peninsula. We are committed to learning, playing and loving lacrosse. We primarily draw players from San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, Menlo Park and Belmont, although membership on the club is not restricted to a geographic area.

Come out and watch us in action, and see the FIRE and passion in our players and their love for the game, its tradition and culture of respect and giving back to the community.

Spring Tryouts

CLICK HERE to register for our tryout wait list.  We will notify you when we have tryouts for open spots.

How the tryouts work:
Returning Firehawks players have priority for placement on a team and are evaluated during the fall.  New players can try out for open spots during the fall tryout sessions.   In some cases, there may be 10-15 new players trying out for only a few open spots on a team.  The tryout wait list is not on a first come first served basis; rather, it is a list of players interested in trying out for a team.

Boys tryouts:  The tryouts for the boys teams take place over a series of seven fall scrimmages.  Spring teams will be limited to 20-22 players.

Girls tryouts:  Information will go out in August to the players on the tryout wait list.  Girls tryouts will take place during the fall.

Fall Lacrosse Registration is Full -- Join our Waitlist.

Fall Registration is FULL for U9, 11, U13 and U15 boys.

Please join our waitlist (CLICK HERE TO JOIN) if you are interested in fall lacrosse in case a spot opens up or if you are interested in trying out for a spring team. You must sign up on our wait list in order to be notified when tryouts are.

Fall lacrosse and spring tryouts for U11, U13 and U15 boys will be held on October 3, 17, 24, November 7, 14 and 21 from 12:00-5:00 pm at Sequoia HS in Redwood City.  U9s will have four Saturday sessions on October 3, 17, 24 and 31.

For U11, U13 and U15s, the format is 100% scrimmaging. New players are welcome but expect to be thrown into the “fire” at first until you get the hang of it. You will learn quickly!

For U9s (both returning and new), we will have 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of scrimmaging.

Fall schedule:
12:00-1:00 -- Boys U9
1:15-2:15 – Boys U11
2:30-3:30 – Boys U13
3:45-5:00 – Boys U15

Girls: TBD

We use fall lacrosse as tryouts for our spring teams. It is essential that all new players play in as many scrimmages as possible so you be evaluated for any open spots on spring teams.

Tryouts for Spring 2010 Teams

All teams in 2010 will be on a tryout basis, with priority given to returning players. The best way to join a team for Spring 2010 is to play fall lacrosse with the Firehawks, which serve as tryouts for the Spring teams.

We will have at least two boys teams at each of the U9, U11, U13 and U15 level for Spring 2010, and one U11 and one U13 girls team. We hope to be able to add additional teams in order to accommodate new players, but it is not known at this time whether we can find additional fields and coaches.
